Man vs. Cat: The battle continues…

Nutmeg is the schizo cat that Barbara recently got a couple of months ago. She is a nocturnal cat and her favorite daytime hiding place is this little nook behind Barbara’s computer desk. It just so happens that this is where the plugs to Barbara’s computer and the DSL modem is at. When Nutmeg decided to stretch, we loose DSL.
So the cat and I have been battling extensively for the last week or so, with me building up walls and the cat somehow overcoming the walls to get to her hiding spot. In normal circumstances, I’m sure this would be a heartwarming, feel good story.
But we are talking about my DSL here.
So I just spent the last 10 min building, IMHO, the best looking, sturdiest, wall known to man or cat. Amazingly, it was made out of everyday boxes, lamps, and other household items. It’s actually very Trading Spaces and it matches the desk. Lets see the cat get into her nook now. Yes Nutmeg, you’ve been in this house for a couple of months now. It’s time that you stop being so skittish and get use to me. The rest of the cats have, and they have me trained perfectly. I know when to play with them, when to feed them human food, when to pet them and give them attention. Isn’t it time you joined the program. Yes Nutmeg, you and all of your personalities need to take a chill pill and relax.

What Song of 2003 And 2002 Are You?

evanescence-bring-me-to-life
Your song of 2003 is Evanescene’s “Bring Me To Life”. Reguardless of if you had a good year or not, you feel like something is lacking in your life… somewhere along the line, and hopefully you’ll find it in the new year.

somewhere-out-there

I am “Somewhere Out There” from Our Lady Peace off of the album “Gravity”.

Someone like you has existed from the earliest days and will exist forever and forever. You are the infamous “hopeless romantic”. You got a lot of love in your heart, and one of your biggest problems is/was not being able to find someone to share your love with. Keep in mind though that if you are really and truly deserving, you too shall get your happy ending.

Live 105’s Top 105 most influential albums of the 90’s!

For the most part, I have lost faith in all that corporate radio has to say. But I was on
Live 105  site and this list caught my eye. It’s weird seeing Notorious B.I.G. and Lauryn Hill on the list, since I have never heard them on the station. And while the Beastie Boys are on here, I could have sworn that Hello Nasty came out sometime after 2000 and Ill Communication should be on the list. Then there is DJ Shadow at #3, who’s album I don’t really like.
Luckily, there isn’t any Metallica on the list. Anyway, albums I have are in Bold

The Tax Man…

Did most of my Federal Tax stuff online at TurboTax.com. Getting $250 back this year, which is better than the measly $22 I got back last year. The good part of me knows that I will put it away and probably use it to pay my car registration later on this year. Although there is a small naughty part of me that want to use it to buy a new video card. Didn’t file it because I realize that my mailing zip code is wrong on the W-2, so I will have to get a new one before I file. I also think that their might be one other thing that I can deduct from. I have to dig around in my file box for some paperwork though. Overall, my income stayed the same compared to last year, which sucks. The think that helped me out was moving from Park Merced to Pacifica. I was just paying way too much living with Mike. I don’t regret moving in with Mike, but I had to move out. I wonder how Mike is doing, he should be graduating this year, I think. Looks like he mommy/daddy bought himself a new car. He needed it, has that Corolla of his was on its last breath.

Anyway, nothing too exciting planned for tonight. Will probably continue my search for God. Exciting, I know…

Working on Sat.

Working on a Sat. is never fun, even if it is only for a couple of hours. Esp. if it is just for a couple of hours.
Anyway, the work is done…well, actually, it is just fucked up. I fucked it up. Yay me!!! Anyway, going to split to Borders or Barnes & Noble for awhile. Some guy is suppose to be working on my door to try and keep the hot air in so that I will stop bitching that my room is cold.
Blah.

The addiction continues…

Friday Five For January 23, 2004

At this moment, what is your favorite…

1. …song? Fallen by Sarah Mclachlan

2. …food? Spam, if you can believe it. I’ve just about eaten more spam this month than what I ate all of last year. Not that there is anything wrong with spam (It’s an essential part of an Asian diet), it’s just that I don’t remember the last time that I have had so much of it.

3. …tv show? There is only one show, Angel.

4. …scent? Had a craving for vanilla for awhile now…

5. …quote? “I’m hotter than fresh roadkill, baby”

Cuts to the heart…

Of course, there is a story behind this....

...But like Victoria, I think I'll keep it a secret a bit longer.

act of revenge.

How can I be bored at work

Well, I am. No receiving today, no transfers, nothing needs to be counted, nothing needs to be cleaned. Go, this felt like a day after inventory when we can’t do anything until the system is ready to go. Oh yeah, the system crashed too.
So I sent the guys home after Tim gave me an ass kicking at Chess. God, just three games ago I beat him in 7 moves, and now he has a 3-4 win streak going on. I really need to start playing other players.
There is a humming bird trapped in the ceiling of the warehouse. I have all the doors open and am praying that I don’t have to stay here until dark to wait for the fucker to leave. It’s not like it’s a pigeon, where I could get some popcorn and make a trail so that he would leave. Or borrow the BB gun from the paint shop next door and shoot it (Pigeons are considered the same class as rats in SF and it is legal to shoot and kill them).
Got my W-2 today. I think that I make a little more money than last year. I still don’t think that I took enough taxes out and will owe, but I will find out for sure this weekend when I do my taxes.
It’s not like I have totally been goofing off and playing Zuma all day long. I spent some time looking at box companies for boxes for the online orders, since I will have to order some soon. Problem is that I’m not sure that the warehouse will have room for the min quantity that I have to order.
Pissed off to hell with Barry. He was suppose to call and take me out to lunch today, but he never called. All I can say is that the bastard had better gotten the job he was interviewing for, cause I have been starving all day long.
Anyway, I think that I’m bored enough to play in the acct cage and organize it a bit. Will also rummage around to see if I can make a 20-30 ft net to try and catch the hummingbird.
