.my back

My back is killing me. I think it is from laying on my remote for my speakers last night. But it also could have been from me trying to lift that 100+ box yesterday. Def. not helping my mood today. Neither is the fact that my monitor is still not fix. And the parking ticket that I got today is def. not helping.

.herding

My strategy of cleaning my room is by moving the mess from one place to another, just kinda herding the mess around my room until it is all cleaned up. The mess is currently huddled on my bed (there is also a herd of dirty clothes in the corner.)

Just went outside to get some more junk out of my car. The sounds of the ocean waves and the light of the moon outside almost caught me in its grasp. Seriously fighting the urge to take a late night stroll along the beach. Mainly I have the urge to do cartwheels on the beach, something that is out of the realm of reality (esp. since I can’t do cartwheels or flips; I know, I was deprived has a child).

Anyway, back to cleaning my room, most of the mess was from the box of memories that I have. This is not to be confused with the Box of April, which is the memory box of April that is in a safe location in Washington. Decided to leave it out and use the contents as fodder for this journal. No memory is truly harmless, however most of the memories in this box are easily sedated and
controllable. Well, we’ll see what happens.

I guess I should move on to the bed. Eventually the moon will set and my energy will be sapped. It would be nice to pass out on my bed instead of my floor.

.revenge of the Chicken Salad sandwich

I can only think that the Chicken Salad sandwich that I had from Piccolo’s was the reason for my earlier mood. Now that I slept off the sandwich, the moon is starting to take over and I am starting to feel
antsy and horny. **sigh** My room will def. get clean tonight, however, I am going to be a mess for the manager’s meeting tomorrow.

Momentum is also moving me to going out and getting applications for a weekend job somewhere. Barbara has yet to find a new job, an I worry about her odds at finding one,
esp. without computer training. I suggested again that she goes back to school and take a class in Excel, but she said no. I really don’t know of any company that still does their books using
column pads. Also the fact that she hasn’t found a roommate for the empty room is worrying. I honestly expected her to find someone by now. I guess I shouldn’t panic yet, but I think that a 2nd job will be great to get some extra income in so that I will have money to move again, just in case.

Anyway, the cam is on, focused on my messy room. Will get to cleaning it…eventually. Also have some work that I should look over. Def. have a work email that I need to finish tonight. Def. still pissed at Samsung for not calling me back about my monitor.

.Carrying Monday on my shoulders

Today has just dragged on and on. I went to bed pretty early last night (I think I did), so I don’t know why I’m so tired. And then I get to work and it has just seemed like the day has dragged on and on. It’s only 4:15 right now. I still have 45min left before I can leave.

Tomorrow I have a manager’s meeting. I wish Tim was working tomorrow so that I could send him in my place and just call in sick and sleep all day. I have no idea why I’m like this. It has to be the chicken salad sandwich that I had for lunch today. It wasn’t very good.

**yawn** I wonder if I will get caught on camera if I take a nap at my desk. I guess I could always goto the bathroom and nap…

.weekend update -Embarcadero & Japantown

April comming up the stairs at The Embarcadero Center

So today, after waking up and stuff, I headed out to Downtown S.F. to meet April for lunch at
Pizzeria Uno and then to Japantown. Fiddled around with my finances and determined that I had about $4 in change. Which would just be enough for me to take BART from Balboa Park Station to Downtown and then to catch a bus to Japantown. Decided to try my luck with parking downtown even though there was a Giant’s game today. After having a couple of spots taken from me, found a space a couple blocks away from the Embarcadero station. I had left super early figuring that it would take me a good amount of time driving to find a
space. So I had plenty of time to wait for April. Went to the Embarcadero Center and walked around some of the shops, but nothing really caught my eye. Ended up on a bench next to the Hyatt and started writing in my journal. Mainly, I just worked on some site designs for this site. But I also tried to make up a writing game, where I would try and write as much as I could about the people
coming out of the BART station. In hind sight, I should have done like every 10th or 20th person, so I could really write. Has is was, it turned out to be a game of 5 word description, which I gave up when the Asian tour group popped out.

**sigh** There WAS this one person that would have been a great write up. She was an Hispanic lady, in her early 20’s, wearing some really tight
Capri’s and this really tight lt. blue shirt that was too small for her. Oh yes, the belly was hanging out. And it wasn’t like it was an accident that she was wearing it. No, she was proud of what she had on. I was having this battle in my head over if I should write about her, take a picture, or just ignore her. Has I’m having this inner battle, she is on the phone talking to someone and then to my amazement SHE RUBS HER BELLY. We are talking about Fat Bastard from Austin Powers rubbing belly. OMG, I was just stunned. **shivers**

Anyway, April arrived at S.F. a station ahead of where I was at, so we both started walking to the Embarcadero Center to
Pizzeria Uno, We get there only to discover that they have closed this location (I found out that they are on 101 down by the Marina district.) So we walked to my car and drove to Japantown. We had lunch and then I mostly followed April around has she filled up on stuff. *sigh** Once again, I have to say that I have loss my shopping ability. Everything I saw was just so ho-hum. It’s sad really. Anyway we got some crepes at Sophie’s…I wonder if we were talking too loud. Alot of R rated comments flying around us, but I don’t think that there were any kids around. A highlight had the be the group that wheeled away a gumball machine. No one
stopped them. I did ask in one store about the PS2 adapter, but they didn’t sell PS2 stuff. 🙁 Drove back to downtown, where we tried to find out where they moved Sephora (it’s on Powell street now) but the building was already demolished.

It was a good day and I’m glad I spent it with April. She made a comment about the clouds/fog rolling into the city. I kinda brushed it off until I was going home, when I saw the fog just rolling over Twin Peaks and the Sutro Tower. I guess I had to see it in a bigger context. And oh yeah, she also got me two presents: Cowboy Bebop CD, which is
excellent. And this cute Zodiac Tiger keychain that I will have to take a picture of once I find my keys (they are on the floor somewhere)

So my room is a mess from me looking for my Renaissance Hat the night before. I should clean it, but I think that I am going to wait until tomorrow. Hopefully Samsung will call me tomorrow with the O.K. to return my monitor.

I know it is not raining, but I swear it sounds like it is. The fog must be f’ing heavy tonight.

.weekend update – Ren Faire

**yawn** what an action filled weekend. A very enjoyable, if expensive weekend. Guess I should start with the
Renaissance Faire

Pictures ahead, I shrunk them down a bit, but it still might take some time for dial up….

Me and Barbara's sister, Laura.

Me and Judy (Friend of Suzanne and Kimberlee)

Suzanne and Tess

The Captain...forgot to get his name; my Jenga nemisis...

A Scot who joined the game later. He says that he was last year's champion...

Me, Mariah, and Tess.

Me and Mariah...We are both pimp has shit

Me pre-Ren Faire

If anybody wants an original picture taken 960×1280, just let me know and I will send it to you.

Anyway, After not sleeping on Thursday night, and getting little sleep on Friday night (the moon just played havoc with me all night long) I woke up and left Pacifica around 9
AM. It was a beautiful day around the bay, esp. after escaping the fog hanging around the coast. Drove down Hwy 280 and then got onto Hwy 101 and headed to Gilroy. It was an interesting drive since I have never been down 101 pass San Jose before. About an hour later, I get to Hwy 152 East and get off. So far, I haven’t seen any signage at I am going the right way to the faire. So I’m driving inland, and I’m looking for someone in costume, or with a faire sticker on their car, or anything to let me know that I am going on the right direction. Eventually, right when I am thinking that I am going to turn around, there is a sign saying that the faire is 5 miles away at Casa de Fruta.

So soon after, I reach the faire site. Let me just say that the faire will not have to
worry about the land turning into a golf course or other development. It is out in the middle of NO WHERE. And I do mean no where. But at least it was a cool no where; while it was a nice and sunny day, it had to be one of the coldest faires I have been to since the faire was at Black Pointe site. So I went in with my ticket and headed to the rental place to get my costume. Decided on a nice swordsman costume, mainly because the shirt was clean. It also looked good with the hat that I have, The only bad thing about the costume was with the boots. They didn’t have boots anymore, but these boot covers, which covers your regular shoes. I guess they wouldn’t have been so bad if I would have worn my steel toes instead of my sneakers. Anyway, got compliments on my costume has I left and headed into the faire.

In a way, I guess the faire hasn’t changed. Alot of the shops are the same and have the same items. There is the same Nancy Chien art work that I just drool over, the same games, the same barbarian lady wearing a chain mail bra and panties (and only bra and panties). However this faire was different in a number of ways. I really did not like where the Queen’s Court was at. It seemed very small, and I passed it twice. I also passed up the Boars Head, where they usually have a sit down meal you can get w/entertainment. I don’t know, in some ways, it
just seemed a bit smaller.

However, their was nothing wrong with the ladies at the faire. **sigh** The funniest thing has to be looking at guys looking at the women in costume. It goes from the very sly look to the outright gawking. I myself am a corner looker myself, however I did catch myself doing some straight on stares and double looks.

Didn’t do that much shopping thanks to the Columbia House binge I went on. Not sure if it was a good or bad thing that I didn’t have that much money to spend. I did buy some new plumes for my hat (mix of orange/black). Had a stuffed baked potato with a beef/mushroom stew over it that was good. And I had alcohol. **sigh** Probably too much considering that the potato is all I had to eat the entire day (I know, bad Joe). had a couple of ciders, a lager, and an ale…I think. Did not get the turkey drumstick or the cinnamon almonds, which is a
disappointment. The nuts sound esp. good right now. Caught some of the shows. Saw
Moonie the Magnificent, also saw the Bold & Stupid Men show and the Queen’s
Pageant
. However the biggest entertainment for me was in the games area, where I played Jenga against a faire worker. He is very good. The first time we played, I
conceded to him. Later in the afternoon, once I had gotten a supply of alcohol in me, I went back for a rematch. We had some pretty nice crowd of onlookers watching up. I swear, I love Jenga; and the best way to play it is to be a bit drunk (It allows you to swing with the bricks when they are
teetering, according to one person.)

And yes, I met people at the faire. Suzanne and Tess were town criers; Mariah was at Turkey Legs; Judy and Kimberlee (which I had thought we took a picture together, but I guess not) were working at Friends of Faire. Also saw Laura, who was working a hat booth, and her daughter Kristen, who was a
drummer in the procession. Didn’t see Brent; which makes me wonder if he is O.K. although I guess I can ask Laura if he is there or not. It might have been to far for him to goto this year.

Made my way out of the faire around 5:30p.m. I actually laid in my car for a little while before driving home. I probably should have waited a little longer, but made it home with only a hangover. Was going to stop in San Jose and goto Nickel City to play some games, but I didn’t have any money, and really wasn’t in the best of shape to play arcade games. Overall I had a good time, and I am going to try and go again at the end of the month if I can.
