.Saturday indecision

Recovering from an emotional hangover, which is never fun.

Trying to decide on what to do today. Wanted to goto the beach, which I would have to get ready for now, before it got too crowded.

Also thought about going to Santa Cruz, but I probably shouldn’t go on a trip that far. Also I have no one to go with.

Secretly been thinking about going to a nude beach, but that is just me trying to get some attention.

So I can also goto the movies; watch Once Upon A Time In Mexico or Matchstick Men. Guess I could also watch Pirates of the
Caribbean (sure it is still playing somewhere)

Or I can just stay holed up inside my room this weekend. I have tons of books that I checked out from the library that I need to read. Also could clean the room (I know, I am always cleaning my room. It’s just been a bad week room wise). Problem is that I don’t have any food (i.e. milk for cereal) to eat. That could be a problem later.

Well, it’s 10 a.m. right now. Think that I am going to take a shower, because I smell. That should give me time to decide on what to do.

.When will it stop?

The pain is still there.

Driving home from Tim and Mark’s softball game.

Just a mix of the right ingredients.

A moon in the sky

A song on the radio

A thought that just happened to wander by.

In moments the pain formed in my heart.

My breathe was taken away

And the tears started to fall.

.Johnny Cash and John Ritter dead

God, what is going on?

Johnny Cash AND John Ritter.

**sigh** what is this world coming to.

Rest In Peace

.Green Screen

web cam is acting wanky again. No show for all of my peeping toms tonight…

O.K. First, introducing my new Tiger keychain….

**- I was too lazy to turn the lights on in my room, so took the picture in the dark. Still, isn’t it cute. Going to replace Mr. Pinkie with this in my car. If I was using Livejournal more, I would def. make an icon out of it.

**- Been sick most of the night thanks to Taco Bell. **sigh** When will I learn that the Taco Bell next to the beach is the only safe Taco Bell to eat at.

**- In Madden news, the Bengalis (me) were handed a humiliating defeat by the Bears (Peter) 61-28. Ouch.
Bengalis suck more than the Texans.

**- Hoping that this will be the last night of sleeplessness that I will have. I am so tired of not sleeping.

**- Have to remember to go pick up applications at Ross and other retail establishments this weekend. **sigh** Also have to remember to smile and think positive has I sell my soul to these places in hopes that they will hire me.

**- Did a Google search on my name and came across this site. Just amazed at the price of my “stock” I would have thought that I would be on the verge of being
desisted.

**- Going to do some more sketches for a new layout this weekend. I have an idea of what I want to do. However, as always, it comes down to my ability to be able to design the stuff in my head. One thing that I need are feathers. The plumes in my Ren Faire hat are too…floppy. I though about going to the beach and getting seagull feathers, however I think that they might be too stiff. Need something
in-between.

Friday Five for September 12, 2003

1. Is the name you have now the same name that’s on your birth certificate? If not, what’s changed? I assume that this is the same name that is on my birth certificate (for the record, my name is Joseph L. Rogers). I was adopted has a young child and never knew my real parents. I guess the curious thing is with my nickname, which I won’t even post here. I kinda think that it might be my “real” name. However it is not that big of a deal, since my parents are the only ones who call me by that name.

2. If you could change your name (first, middle and/or last), what would it be? I don’t know what I would change my name too. I remember has a child, that my name sometimes
irked me, esp. when it was “Sloppy Joe” day at school, or if someone stayed home sick and watched Mr. Rogers Neighborhood. I also remember a week period where I tried to get my friends to call me J.R. That did not last long at all.

3. Why were you named what you were? (Is there a story behind it? Who specifically was responsible for naming you?) I assume that I was named after my dad and his dad (They were both Joseph Rogers’ too). Not sure if my dad is a Jr. or not though. I don’t think so. Just the middle names are different.

4. Are there any names you really hate or love? What are they and why? At one point, I wanted to have a daughter and name her Vanessa. I know that there are names that irk or bother me, however I can’t think of them right now. Wait…Kiefer. What kind of name is Kiefer?

5. Is the analysis of your name at kabalarians.com accurate? How or how isn’t it? I guess the
analysis
is somewhat accurate, however when I punch in my “nickname“, that one is kinda scary accurate.

.San Francisco Heat Wave

It is HOT in the city, which means that it is in the 80’s here. **sigh** I have SO
acclimated (sp?) to the weather here. It’s not even funny.

Found my keychain last night. Mr. Pinkie claims that he was in my car the whole time, but Mr. P is somewhat of an evil mastermind. It’s in the eyes. Although, last night I saw Roxy sneaking out of my room, and when I went it, I saw my tiger keychain on the bed.

I have the TV. on and am glad that the networks haven’t gone over board on 9/11 today. I was almost fearful that it would be the replaying of 9/11 coverage on all the stations. One of the most glaring memories that I have of that day is of Crackhead Eddie. This
happened in my last semester at SF State and I remember Matt (one of my other roommates) waking me and Eddie up to show us what was being shown on the
TV. I remember Eddie going back to sleep after a minute of watching. And then later that day, he still didn’t know what was going on. **sigh** what an idiot. Still, I’ve been reading some of the flame wars that have sprung up on the net today. Both have their points (and name-calling), however I think that I am going to just stay out of the fighting. Today should not be about finger pointing, but about
remembrance of those who lost their lives on this day.

.missing: one tiger key chain

I cannot find my Tiger key chain (the one that April got for me). I could have sworn that I brought it in the house and put it on my desk. The only suspect so far is SMF Yeti, who was seen lurking at the scene of the crime. I also suspect Roxy (Barbara’s cat), however, she hasn’t come into my room all day. Mr. Pinkie, the Baskin Robbins spoon, is also suspiciously absent….

.Fight Club

Finish reading Fight Club last night, the first book that I have finished in quite awhile now. OMG, I should def. have read the book first before seeing the movie. Or maybe not….I don’t know they each spoil each other. Of course they left out stuff in the movie that was in the book; however, I’m surprised (In a good way) that they left out the scene where Tyler is first introduced. I would think that Hollywood would have love to use Brad Pitt in that kind of scene. Yeah, I’m not telling, you are going to have to read the book. I guess the bottom line is that both the book and the movie are big mind fucks. And you guys with the DVD’s know about the hidden stuff that is in the movie, right?

This makes me want to watch Magnolia. That was another mind fuck movie, along with
Vanilla Sky
. Although with Vanilla Sky, I want to see the original Spanish version also.

I have a free weekend that I was suppose to go and see an old friend, but that isn’t happening until next weekend. I could goto the Ren Faire again, however that would put a dent in the pocket book. Also I need to get that stuff called…food? groceries? Yeah, it’s probably better to be able to eat for a couple of weeks than to get drunk and play Jenga at the Ren Faire. The thing with the Ren Faire is that if I go, I have to dress up. I don’t think that I could go just wearing street clothes. And rentals are $40-$70 depending on the costume. **sigh** I will just have to start buying pieces for a costume.

Anyway, I think this weekend will be a movie weekend. Top picks are Underworld and Once Upon A Time In Mexico looks like the movie that will be seen this weekend. Wondering if I should splurge and goto Metreon to see it or just settle for another location. Also with the weather warming up, I think that I will hit the beach; maybe drive down to Half Moon Bay, or even all the way down to Santa Cruz. The Boardwalk might be entertaining. The key is not to stay holed up at home.

.”How do the hell do you transfer…”

That was a quote today from Helen, the lovely customer service rep from Samsung that I got today. Called Samsung today for the 3rd time to try and get my monitor fixed. I am getting a replacement monitor, but instead of a new one, I am getting a refurbished one. 😛 Not happy with it, but it is stated in the warranty that they can do that. So they are shipping it to a UPS store and when it arrives, I just need to bring my broken one to them and switch them. All I have to say is that this monitor had better look has good as my old one, or I will be calling them back to bitch at someone. Still, I will be nice to reclaim my 19 inches (O.K., 18 inches; it is a CRT monitor.) This 17 inch one that I am using is pissing me off.

Also got the $14 empty hard drive box that I needed to send back my IBM “Deathstar” hard drive back. The repair center is in Union City, it would probably been cheaper to just drive it over myself. **sigh** Well, at least it has been mailed off and it shouldn’t take too long for them to send me a new hard drive. I probably won’t keep it, instead send it up to my parents and have Eric install it into the Gateway (AMD K6-450; 256MB RAM, 10GB) And then I also have the 20GB that I was suppose to give to Eric like a year ago. Wonder if I should keep that one or send it up too. I highly doubt that the AST could handle it (P60 – Yes original Pentium processor, 32 or 64 MB RAM, 2.1 HD). Sigh…my Dad still uses this machine sometimes. I tried one, but combined with no broadband, I just couldn’t handle it.

In other computer news, in Madden ’04, the Texans (me) upset the Raiders (Mark) 17-15; however, they
collapse and lost to Chicago (Tim) 45-14.
